White Stripes vs. Craig Mack vs. Iron Maiden all under the watchful eye of Ben Franklin

September 24, 2010

Last weekend Roots and Groove was in full effect at the Franklin Institute.  Our clients were a wonderful couple from Philly who have a deep love and appreciation for music.  We met with them a couple times and had numerous emails and phone calls to make sure that the music that we played represented what they wanted and then some.  We had an awesome time working with them and mixing for them.

The whole night started out with pre-ceremony and ceremony music under a full moon in the planetarium, then a mix of indie and classic rock for cocktail by the Heart, and finally dinner and dance in the Franklin Rotunda.    We started the dance mix off with Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes and Time to get away by LCD soundsystem and then somewhere in the middle we kicked off a nice hip- hop set with Flava in your ear by Craig Mack and ended (as per the groom’s request) with The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden.  A great time was had by all, as the bride said to me on the way out…”people were on the floor [dancing] the whole night”.

Shout out to Christina Hill of CHill Weddings (http://www.chillweddings.com) for an excellent job planning this wonderful night!
